"When it came to decide on a composer for Paparazzi, the editing room was stacked high with piles of CD's. After listening to about thirty, they all started to sound alike. I knew what I wanted but wasn't hearing it. I had lunch with my production designer and told him how frustrated I was getting and his eyes lit up. We drove to his house and he handed me a Brian Tyler compilation CD. I took a drive up PCH while I listened. Before I got to Malibu, I pulled over and called Brian. I had found my composer. Sometimes trying to convey musical ideas can be a bit awkward. I quickly learned that Brian was incredibly good at interpreting ideas into music. At times it felt as if he had read my mind. I told him I saw the Paparazzi as insects and he immediately embraced the concept, but more importantly knew just how far to take it. For another scene, I needed to convey Bo's first taste of revenge and the feeling of regret that accompanied it. At the same time that piece of music had to have a hypnotizing effect on the audience to bring them into this state of mind. When I heard what he came up with I nearly cried, "Perfect!" In every situation, Brian took the music beyond my expectations and elevated the film. For a director, there is no better feeling (with the possible exception of huge box-office numbers)."

- Paul Abascal, director 'Paparazzi'
