"Meeting Brian Tyler for the first time was a surprising experience for me. While editing, I had become a fan of his intense, dark, and melodic music. I'm one of those people who expects artists to physically resemble their work. It's a naïve concept I long to outgrow.

So what would this Tyler fellow be like? Would he be moody? Difficult? Mad?

In fact, Brian, the bastard, has movie star good looks. He talks fast. He laughs a lot. When he gets excited about an idea, it's infectious. No brooding artist here. Just a brilliant composer with a deep passion and commitment to his art.

Brian connected deeply with The Final Cut. Alan's internal life was tangible to him, and the music grew out of that empathy he developed for the character.

It takes only a few notes of a song to bring back memories of a childhood summer, or a heart break, or a visit to a distant city. It takes only a few notes of Brian's score to summon up The Final Cut. His music delights you even as it haunts you."
